Irete: Eze Ekwelibe Confers  Chieftaincy Title On Azuoma, Okpe

In recognition of his integrity and capacity to help promote develop in Irete autonomous community, a frontline community leader, Chief Aginwa Azuoma has been conferred with a Cabinet Chieftaincy title by the traditional ruler of the community, HRH,Eze Ethelbert. C. Ekwelibe.

The ceremony which took place as part of the event marking the 2022 Igbanta cultural festival of the community was held on Tuesday, July 26, having in attendance illustrious sons and daughters of the community, as well as dignitaries from across the state.

Chief Azuoma who is a surveyor holds the Ezienyi 1 Chieftaincy title of Umuguma and Awo-Omamma communties.

According to him, the conferment of the chieftaincy title on him by Eze Ekwelibe was in fulfilment of the tradition as the traditional has already described him as triple Chief.

Chief Azuoma noted that as the cabinet  Chief representing Umuoyo village, his people would benefit immensely from his role as he would always stand on truth and handle all matters justly, fairly, irrespective of one’s social standing in the community, adding okay he would be fair to all as the traditional ruler has instructed when.

The Umuoyo village head said he would also work hard to make his village and Irete community a peaceful and attractive place to live and do business by everyone.

Also conferred with the cabinet chieftaincy title was Pst. Leo Okpe who now represents Umuoma village in Eze Ekwelibe’s cabinet.

According to Chief Okpe he would devote his time and capacity to justify his nomination by his people to represent them in the Eze’s cabinet.

He used the occasion to appreciate the traditional ruler, HRH Eze Ekwelibe for his efforts at reviving the Igbanta cultural festival which he described as having a building effect on the people of Irete autonomous community.
